How To Set Your Mind On The Spirit

We know that walking in the Spirit is an essential Christian practice. However, it can feel too abstract at times. Romans 8:5-6 has a helpful guideline for walking in the Spirit: “Those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace” (NIV). This meditation will help you to set your mind on the Spirit. Absorb. Consider the meaning of each phrase. What is the purpose of the passage? What does the Spirit desire? Read it with your name in it. Proverbs 3:3-4 (NIV) How good is it to have a good name with God? Imagine God thinking about you and saying to himself, [Your Name] is good, I can rely on him/her to do good when I put them in situations. Then imagine God giving you favor and deciding to give you extra blessings. This is what God wants to do for you. He has probably already done this; he wants to do more. What is our responsibility in this dynamic? Love and faithfulness. He wants us to learn to love others, love him and be faithful, or consistent in our godliness. How A Gaze Can Transform You

One of the most powerful passages in Scripture is 2 Corinthians 3:18 which reads: “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another” (ESV). The idea is that as we gaze on Christ, God transforms us into Christ’s image. We will learn to practice this in today’s post; give yourself at least two minutes to do this. Absorb. For the LORD gives wisdom;from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men,from men whose words are perverse, Proverbs 2:6,12 (NIV) We all want to make wise decisions in our lives, but where can we find the best wisdom? Yahweh gives wisdom, knowledge and understanding. When we look to him and his words we gain the highest knowledge, the deepest understanding and the most profound wisdom. Consider the lives of those who do not seek the Lord, who embrace the wisdom of the world around them. Their lives have limited purpose, limited love, limited good. When we abide in the Lord we gain wisdom that the world cannot understand because we follow the upside-down ideas of God’s kingdom.
