As promised in my last post, my new book, “A Quest for the Ultimate” [Amazon link] has been released and is now available on Amazon. The Kindle version is on sale for .99 now; the paperback will be available later today (make sure the cover has the title on it.) Strangely, most believers have not given much thought to their ultimate purpose, and if they do, they are usually uncertain. Yet, isn’t it a critical question? In the next few days I will release my new book, “A Quest for the Ultimate: A Spiritual Adventure of Seven Seekers.” It is about the ultimate purpose of the Christian life. I have asked several believers if they knew what the ultimate purpose of their Christian life was, and I received several different answers. None of them seemed to fit with what Scripture teaches, so I think this will be a helpful book. God wants to encourage you with an exciting ultimate purpose, so I hope you will read the book. God Will Honor Us – Weekly Words Of Encouragement

“My Father will honor the one who serves me.” John 12:26, ESV. Jesus promises that when we become the servant of Jesus then God will honor us one day. God originally made humans with honor and he wanted this honor to grow. He made us in his image and though it is broken he gave us a new self with a restored image of God. This is our true self and one day it will be fully developed. God rejoices when we display his image in our lives. So, like a good father, God will honor us for our faithfulness. Scripture states in many places that God will honor us, usually by saying he will glorify us! (For example, Matt. 13:43; Rom. 8:17, 21; 2 Cor. 4:17; Col. 3:4; Phil. 3:21; 1 Pet. 5:10; 2 Pet. 1:3.) Your Amazing Spiritual Blessings

Does it seem mysterious to you to say that we have “every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places”? (Eph. 1:3) ESV. This idea has seemed very abstract and fuzzy to me, especially the part about the spiritual blessings being in heavenly places. Why does it say the spiritual blessings are in heavenly places instead of in our hearts? And if the blessings are in heavenly places and we are living on earth does that mean we are separated from our blessings somehow? Do we have to wait until the next life until we have them? As we look at Ephesians 1:3-14 we can see that Paul lists the spiritual blessings he refers to in verse 3. If we look at these blessings perhaps we can answer some of our questions. It Is About Kingdom Community

Colossians 3:1-17 is one of my favorite passages in the bible. It’s hard to think of other passages that describe what it means to be a disciple of Jesus so well. It reminds me of the Sermon on the Mount, and it is about kingdom community! Today we are looking at Col. 3:12-15: “Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts.
